Sorry. Gotta call it out when I see it Red. LSU was more efficient in the RedZone with Lee last year than with JJ. . .

In games where Lee took the majority of the snaps LSU had 39 redzone appearances and 32 of those times went for TDs. 82% TD rate.

In games where JJ took majority of snaps LSU had 22 redzone appearances and 16 went for TDs. 73% TD rate. And of course a game where we were held out of the redzone.

The myth that a running QB makes it harder for defenses to cover is just that a myth. LSU's stats show that a balanced threat of passing and running is simply harder for defenses to cover. BTW this is the 2nd year these stats have held true for LSU. Keep the running where it belongs, with the RBs. A smart throwing QB is statistically the better option.

    dudley oops!

Barring injury (which may happen), I'd be very surprised if Bolden saw the field this year. He's got 3 years to play 2 and from what i've seen and heard coming out of Area51, Mett and Rivers are the quarterbacks this year. and they need the snaps. It wouldn't make sense to blow Bolden's redshirt year.

Bolden is not Cam Newton. If you are trying to compare Bolden to Cam, LOL. Stfu now. Oh and btw, the same year Cam put up those stats, Ryan Mallet of Arkansas put up 320 passing Yards, 3 TDs, and posted his best QB rating of the year against us.

Stats don't lie. In LSUs offense they convert better with a pocket passer in the redzone. This is two years of comparing stats.

    In other conferences maybe.

Timmy Tebow, Cam Newton...Jefferson had neither and started how many games?

    LaSalleAve when in doubt, mumble

I'll take Mett and Rivers. I've watched Bolden at Penn State, and only if the wheels fall off, and we lose the first 2.

You picked the two exceptions to the rule and think it means something? Not to anyone who has been paying attention.

And won how many championships? And made how many fans happy? You prove my point. Quarterbacks must be able to throw the ball.

Two? Says who? That was just off the top of my head.

No, I showed a QB doesn't need an arm OR legs to be there, necessarily. You didn't say a thing about Championships either, you said, "To be at quarterback." I just showed HOW wrong you were by citing not one, but two, who had no arm to speak of; WERE AT quarterback, and ALSO won championships without that "arm".

    Nice try though.

Cameron Newton was a freak and could throw the ball well and run it well. Just look at what he has done in the NFL as a rookie.

Research how much ungodly time he spent to correct his fundamentals. He had more problems with footwork than Jerry's kids.

College coaches recruit to match their system. He ran a spread offense, not a pro style. Great arm but had lots of mechanical problems. NFL scouts were well aware and it's well documented. He was know most of all for his athleticism, not throwing.
