doesn't really excite me. He looked 150 years old in the playoffs.

I will gladly take Javier to replace him if that's an option. :D

i'd feel pretty dumb hating on Roman Harper being that Gregg Williams loves him and considers him key to our defense:

A much much improved DL will make all the DB's look better. The Saint's had one of the worst DL's in the league last season. The pass rush was just plain horrible. Let's see how they do when they don't have to cover for half an hour on a single play.

i was irritated at the announcers when i was watching that game for claiming the Saints players would be ripping Harper in the locker room for getting chased down by Bradford. right, like Harper makes a great play, returns the ball 82 yards, and some a-hole is going to come up to him in the locker room and rip on him because he got caught from behind at the 17 yard line. just dumb to even think that

Harper ran a 4.50 forty at his Combine/Pro Day, so the dude isn't slow (CB Asante Samuel ran a 4.49, CB Jabari Greer ran a 4.50, CB Corey Webster ran a 4.50, CB Tramon Williams ran a 4.57, etc). yeah, so Harper was out there getting wore out on defense, and a much less-worn-out Bradford was able to chase him down. big deal

as for the big picture: you can sit there and post a few videos of Harper not looking great, so what? you can do that for any player. i could say Brees sucked and started posting all these videos of crappy throws and INTs by Brees

but go read those comments by Gregg Williams again, and he basically says you're an idiot if you don't thing Harper is great and a crucial part of our D. being that our D was ranked #4 in the NFL and #1 in the NFC last year, and being that GW said he gave more games balls to Harper than anyone else last year, i'd feel stupid if i didn't think that Harper was pretty freaking good

Just watch the video. If GW is that thrilled to have him back so I am.

argh so frustrating. you've got GW saying Harper played well vs seattle, but had two bad plays, GW says they were his only two bad plays all season, GW reminds you that everybody makes a few bad plays, and he even says: "You guys criticized him for two plays in that game. It's too bad you guys (reporters and fans) don't know anything about football because you're dead wrong because he played well except those two plays."

and what is the response? "go watch the video. look us this bad play he made against seattle." herp derp
