The Heisman Trophy is becoming such a joke, I don't even pay attention to it much.

Seems as though the media already has their semifinalists--most voters probably have their winner in mind already.

The award is for college football's best player--so technically, EVERY college player should be on the watch list....but you'll never hear the media put it out like that... :dis:

The dude freaking beat Auburn, Alabama, and Florida in the same year. It takes talent to play, it takes a coach to get them to play well.

I agree w/ CParso that most Heisman candidates need a year of hype to be serious contenders, but there are plenty of exceptions (true freshman Adrian Peterson, for one).

Look, this is the game JR's been playing towards his entire life---he knows this offense, is in full health and great shape and is facing a ferocious D led by a D Coordinator who knows better than most what JR's tendencies and weaknesses are (or were).

If he mans up and plays a great one on Saturday, *then* the Heisman hype will slowly build. Trump Chris Leak in Gainsville a few weeks from now and it's on like Donkey Kong.

Heck, we've not had semi-legit Heisman candidates since Harvey Williams and Tommy Hodson. It's time.

    Go get 'em, JR! :thumb:

The team beat Auburn, Alabama, and Florida in the same year. Defence played a huge part in those games.

Never too early...and it's never too late to learn how to spell.
Stand aside the tracks as you wonder, don't hurt yourself.
