A pellet gun or a .22 works great and is way more fun than poison or a trap. When I was in high school there was a garbage dump site on the Mississippi River levee behind a women's prison only a few miles away. The dump was full of rats. We would go there snd shoot rats with our .22 rifles. I don't know why they allowed kids with guns to shoot so near a prison without running us off.
rat lives matter different world now,.. in my day during hunting season, in the high school parking lot there would be at least a few trucks with high powered rifles in their racks.
I've a lot of collared doves living in the trees around my house, in the mornings it sounds like a hoot owl convention.
