I think we all agree the o-line was subpar early in the year last season. What do you attribute the improvement to? Injured player returning, players being a year older and maturing, new o-line coach (Studwara sp?), offensive scheme from Crowton, or OTHER? How about our backup linebackers, we all know the starters are quality (I was a Beckwith fan last year). Lotta redshirt freshmen back there, except Catrera played some last season.
1st off, everyone in the front 7 is a stud and great things are expected out of everyone up there, whether 1st or 3rd string. Years and years of 4 and 5 stars being stock-piled will do that, I guess. As for the O-Line, Coach Stud is... A STUD. lol He will be a HC someday. He just knows how to get the most out of his guys.
to clarify what was posted in the den. I am not the source Dandy Don cited, b/c I think that site is a waste of time, and frankly, so does the Athletic Department, because they took away his press pass, but we'll save that discussion for another day. Anyway, everything said about Ryan Perrilloux is true. He is working out on his own busting his tail. He is in the best shape of his career, and like we said before, he will be put back on the club sometime before the actual X's and O's starts. His mom will most probably live with him all year next year, because they realize he has NFL written all over him, but he will have the name of a prison written all over him if he doesn't straighten up. He has cooperated fully with everything been asked of him, and will get a clean slate with the coaches come fall. EDIT: With this being said, Jarrett Lee still won't redshirt. Don't ask, because I think it is a dumb move, too, but I guess Miles promised him PT his 1st year when he signed.
Great news about RP. I'm glad his moms knows what he is capable of and wont let him screw it up. If RP does what he needs to do then when the hell do they expect JL to play. Homecoming? 5 hand offs? What a waste.
I have no idea what the plan for Lee is, but I imagine it will be nothing more than 3rd string, so yeah, I think it is a wasted year, too, but everything I hear says there is no way he redshirts. I guess that can change when he actually gets to fall practice.
My wife tried to forward me the article but it didnt work. I will post it later. RP's high school coach made a comment saying he would be at practice on Saturday. Miles still has no comment but he did say in the advocate that he has done very well in the short term. This was all expected anyway. Welcome back RP.
