Well, since you brought it up, I have been sitting on this for days.....didn't want to start an AU\bama thing over here.

I will avoid posting the rumor-gossip that I have been hearing, but this much made the paper:

TUSCALOOSA -- The relatively long-term police blotter tranquility of the University of Alabama athletics department was disturbed during the past week with the arrests of four student-athletes.
The arrests of football players Brandon Deaderick, Brandon Fanney and Roy Upchurch early Saturday on misdemeanor charges following an incident outside a bar on The Strip are the first under new coach Nick Saban.
Clearly the public will eagerly await Saban's disciplinary actions in this issue, especially in light of the widely criticized course of action Mike Shula took last summer after the arrest of star linebacker Juwan Simpson on more serious drug and weapon charges.

Saban had not issued a statement on the arrests through the athletic department's media relations staff as of the close of business hours on Monday. The players were also not available for interviewing on Monday, said Corey Hoodjer of the media relations staff.
All three were arrested in the early morning hours Saturday after a disturbance outside The Legacy in the 1200 block of University Blvd.
"The business was refusing entrance to several subjects (when the incident occured)," said Capt. Greg Kosloff, a spokesman for the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
Officers with Tuscaloosa police and the University of Alabama Police Department responded to the call. Deaderick, 19, was arrested by the TPD and charged with giving a false name to officers, resisting arrest and criminal mischief III.
The last of the offenses, Kosloff said, came after Deaderick was arrested and placed in a patrol car.
"He did a small amount of damage to a window inside the patrol car with his noggin," Kosloff said. "He was banging his head on the window."
(My personal favorite) Deaderick was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail at 7:49 a.m., posted his $1,500 bail and was released at 9:56 a.m. .....

Simpson's arrest on May 20, 2006, was the last involving a UA student-athlete prior to the arrest last Monday of basketball player Yamene Coleman on charges of illegal possession/fradulent use of a credit card.

    Are you kidding?:dis:
It would be much more fun if they get to play every week and we get to watch them implode along with the Saban fits on the sidelines.
Thank how much fun we will have watching half of the state of Alabama implode and the other half laughing about it if Saban's plans don't work out the way he wants them too.
Has there been a Forest Gump sighting?

It's not a secret this happened. It's all over the Tuscaloosa papers, with the names of the athletes and everything. I don't think any are starters, but one or two were in the two-deep after spring. As always with athletes and the law, don't jump to conclusions. Let it play out for a while.

It happened a week ago. How long does it take him to get the details?

It happened over the last weekend. This is just the thing that finebaum has been waiting for to pull his summer ratings out of the cellar. Fact finding is the mode of operation at this point anything else is merely specious rumors at this juncture. No more no less.

Does anyone here really expect CNS to not punish appropriately? Most Bama fans want it to be hammer time. Just because nothing has officially come out, doesn't mean that nothing is going on.

On a lighter note. Those calling for "death penalties" and such are perceived to be "Whistling past the graveyard."
