Saban's obviously a good coach. I just think that a lot of people are giving him too much credit as a great coach, IMO. You have to understand the football talent-pool in Louisiana. Anytime anyone can get the majority of the best players Louisiana has to offer to stay at LSU, well you can pretty much conclude that said coach will win--and win big. Look at Saban at Michigan State. Not too impressive. In fact, it'll probably sound like BS, but a lot of LSU fans weren't particularly happy with the Saban hire at first. No one knew who in the hell this guy was. And why was his ego so big? Well, I don't care if someone like Michael Moore is our football coach as long as they can haul in one of these: :crystal: .

Saban's situation at LSU was unique. It's hard not to win with the talent, and with LSU being the only school in LA worth playing for, how hard is it to get the guys to stay here? Not very. Despite the good things Saban did, he also did some bone-headed things as well. That Cap-one bowl fiasco still pisses me off in a big way. That and the fact that LSU is "winning with Saban's talent." Excuse me, but this is Louisiana's talent, and as such, it is LSU's talent. It belongs to no one named Nick Saban. Thanks for the crystal, Nick. But we have one helluva coach here that has more class in his middle finger than you do in your entire body.

No, but I was afraid the weighmaster might have. Turns out the fish we kept...which WE measured at 26 7/8"...was dead on 27" according to the weighmaster's board. This fish probably would've measured 27 1/4" on his board. Now we check our board against his before the tourney...and mark it appropriately.:thumb:

Why do you think all those tourney boats head out from Orange Beach and go to LA marsh during the big money tourneys?? They can catch one of these 26" nutria eatin' suckers that'll outweigh 28" fish from any other state! They hold so many tourneys out of Orange Beach now...I personally think it's to keep competitors from running all the way to LA. But those guys will risk life and limb to get to the LA marsh...just fatter fish over here...and tons of 'em.

I've been itching to get to that Mosquito Lagoon down in florida myself.

Man I dunno about going all the way to LA to catch a redfish lol. Gone outta LA to do some tuna fishing before.

My brother will be running a Boat outta Venice this winter.

This is ya'lls board, but is there really anything else to be said until the season starts lol. Besides Saban doesn't live in the water and isn't a redfish so lets back on the subject ..

"It's not hard to win with the talent".
    See Archer
    See Hallman
    See Dinardo

Attempts to minimize the accomplishments of Saban are more laughable to me now that my anger over the Bama move has diminshed.

Miles and tiger fans worldwide are still riding the Saban wave...and will continue to for many more years. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Just fact.
