1. Welcome to the forum. Gosh, I've never had any thoughts on Nick Saban.
Congrats to Arkansas for making it to the SEC Championship game last year!
  2. Yep! despite all that Louisiana talent last year and the year before, still no trophys. I watched a replay of the SEC Championship game vs Tennesse (2001) the other night. One of the announcers remarked that LSU hadn't won and outright SEC Championship since 1987. Saban did it twice. Now we expect one every year. Looking at it from a historical perspective winning the championship is not easy no matter the talent.
  3. Did you know redfish grow in some of the saline lakes here in West Texas? We lost a bunch to a Gold Algae bloom, sad to say. The drive to Lake Colorado City was much closer than the coast.
  4. who?

    :hihi:
  5. [IMG] Re: Saban thoughts???

Probably that he never left LSU

  6. I actually didn't know that about Texas. I knew about the Florida ones. I've always wanted to try it out just to see how much different it is to fish for them than in gulf/bay areas.

Sure their habits are pretty different. not to mention it's just cool to go saltwater fishing .. in a lake lol.
  7. They're pretty thick around Rockport/Aransas, Texas.
  8. This is another Saban thread so we will refer to it as a Crimsonfish.

Welcome to the board, Hawg. Nick is a fine coach and if we had had an opening last december he would be back coaching at LSU this year and both parties would have been delighted. Fortunately for LSU, Les Miles is winning more than Nick did and is recruiting better as well. We're going to keep this guy a while. With Nick unable to return to LSU, who can blame him for selecting the next best school.

We would rather that he wouldn't have returned to play against us in our own division, but that's the breaks. We were annoyed that he tried to take credit for Les Miles' success whn he tried to turn several LSU committments during recruiting, but he can't get away with that much longer without appearing to be foolish.

Why not start a thread and tell us more about the Arkansas situation because we sure as hell don't understand it.
    2 people like this.
  9. They have redfish FARMS in TX, also. Redfish can tolerate some pretty fresh water.
  10. I caught 2 redfish and 1 laregemouth this morning in a 20 minute span at the same spot. :thumb:
