1. You just can't miss when you're kicking in the NFL 85% with no bad misses is the only way to really have a hold on your job.
  2. He'll live forever in Saints lore because of what he did in the NFCCG and Super Bowl, but mobius is right. I think Payton has been more than fair with him and given him ample opportunities to succeed, but it's time to move on; especially seeing how well Baltimore's kicker did last night (6 FG including the game winning 61 yarder). I don't think Hartley's ever made 6 in a row.
  3. They cut him because he missed a field goal against the Rams? They need to cut the whole team then for the way they performed in that game.
  4. I agree. The whole team sucked. He'll find work, prolly beat the Saints a few times before he's done.
  5. The Rams kicks aren't the only makeable important kicks he's missed this season. He was 22 for 30. 30th in FG pctg in the league. Missed 4 of last 6. Completely warranted cut. Especially since kickers are more easily replaced than position players. And perhaps it sends a message to others - "Keep screwing up and you're next!" I can totally see Payton saying that.

  6. How were the Rams kicks important? I guess 1 FG gets you within 8 points but geez, the guy is having an off year, he made 4 FG's in the Superbowl didn't he? He didn't forget how to kick. Yet Roman Harper and Mark Ingram are still there, Lance Moore too. Hell Scott Shanle for years and he sucked terribly.
  7. He's had plenty of chances. More than he most likely would have had with any other coach. The move wasn't just about one game.
  8. I understand, I just wish the same thing was applied to everyone who has sucked all year and for years.

  9. Well then you'll love this...or will you? Charles Brown demoted. In the biggest game of the year Sunday and against one of the best defenses in the league, Drew Brees' blind side will be entrusted to a rookie who has never taken an NFL offensive snap. Sean Payton has some big brass cods, doesn't he?
