ESPN says it will be signed tomorrow. 6 year deal, no money known yet. likely 58-60 million I would think, given Young got 58 million

now I can't wait for preseason game 1, to see Vince and Reggie

The saints will have an awesome pre-season team with Bennett at 3rd RB :yelwink2:

Looks like this contract will pay better than the one he got while playing at USC. His parents can live in that house with no problems at all now.

Your friend was just trying to sound important to you. He had just read it on ESPN.com or saw the ticker on ESPNews. :)

In all seriousness, this is GREAT news. I am glad he will be in camp on Monday and have only missed the first couple of days. Also, it is reported that the contract is "very close to" the deal Williams got. Even more promise for the Saints as an organizatiion if they accomplished this and did not give in to giving him higher pay.

I think the Saints threw two or three rent houses in the deal and that closed it !

I would think they've been waiting for Bush to sign so they can trade Bennett. Quite a few teams are interested, not the least of which being the Texans.

What the hell is the Texans problem? Dominick Davis has been nothing short of awesome.

He's been a good (not awesome) RB, and gets hurt way too much. Just about every team needs two NFL-caliber backs, and the Texans only have one.

This is a common thread with the Texans though. They have major depth issues at most positions (see secondary, now that starting CB is hurt already), thanks to terrible middle and late round drafts.

Robidoux87 You call that a double?

Are you guys going to be pissed when Tom Benson moves the team to LA just when they start getting good? I'll feel bad for Louisiana, but I'll also have a team to watch that has Reggie Bush on it, and NO MORE RAIDERS ON TV!
