TE from 49ers. In 04 he caught 82 passes, which was probably tops in the NFL that year. He is injury prone, so the Saints signed him to a 1 year deal. Great move, not a lot invested in him, a stop gap measure til we draft one (probably 3rd or 4th rounder this year) and develop him.

Between Johnson and Miller, we should have an actual threat at TE over the middle of the field.

Saints are also could be in the running for Darrell Jackson, who is definitely a more than solid #2 guy to go along with Colston. I hope we get him.

Eric Johnson is a beast when healthy. He was my fantasy football TE a few years back and was outstanding.

I don't know what kind of blocker he is but I like the Saints FA moves so far this season.

This is ironic because didn't one of the Saints DB's put him on the DL a coupla years ago?

If my memory is good I think it was a preseason game...

    Sammy Knight?

As for Eric Johnson, this should be a very good signing. Very smart player, and can put up numbers.

What I remember was that he blew dude up.

Some of my 9er buddies were a little p*ssed that he did it in a preseason game...
