SEC Leads Nation in Football Attendance

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- For the 25th straight season, the Southeastern Conference recorded the largest total attendance figure of any conference in the country, according to figures compiled from NCAA statistics.

In 2005, a total of 5,593,699 fans attended 75 games hosted at SEC institutions, an average of 74,583 fans per game, which is also best in the nation. SEC stadiums were filled to 97.43 percent of capacity for each home game in 2005, which was also best in the nation. The SEC has led the nation in percentage of capacity since the statistic was first kept in 1983.

yeah, they'll say they'd fill the stadiums, but there are too many peace rallies and marijuana legalization meetings.... it's hard to be a hippy and be at a football game at the same time!

Does anyone here think the SEC will ever not be one of the top 3 conferences in college athletics ever? The SEC will always be in the top of every category for years and years to come.
