It may have been a sellout and a great crowd compared to the other games this season, but to get any real serious homecourt advantage we need to actually fill the place up. Places like Kentucky and arkansas fill their places up every game. Bud walton Arena in fayetteville had something like 260 consecutive sellouts until a year or two ago but they still consistently sell out and its been 10 years since theyve gone to the sweet 16. LSU basketball fans just dont know how to cheer for a basketball game either. They tend to sit on their asses most of the game, stand up when a big dunk or big play happens and make noise for 5 seconds and sit back down. Coming to LSU and going to games has been slightly disappointing as far as how tame and uneducated the casual PMAC crowd is. Hopefully with some consecutive good years itll turn into the madhouse it could be.
There were some empty seats, so it was not a SELLOUT. It was a paid SELLOUT, but some seats were empty. Whenever T-Time took the alley-oop from DMitch, I stool up and screamed and high fived my friend, and the old wrinkly man behind me said HEY SIT DOWN NOW!! They mentioned that on the radio but there was still a pretty big crowd. If you had problems with people behind you you should sit where I did. Just a wall at your back.
That's where I would rather sit. It's all good though. It was probably his first basketball game this season, where I've been to every game for the past 4 seasons. Oh well.
