I think the Senior Bowl is for people looking to improve their draft status and get observed by NFL scouts. Whitworth has probably reached his peak and doesn't need to risk injury.
Yes, remember how Devery's stock shot up after the Senior Bowl ? NOTE: Devery may not have played in the Senior Bowl but it was one of the after season bowls. He impressed the scouts both in practice and did very well in the game.
Unfortunately, no Whitworth--but that doesn't mean he won't be playing in another bowl--like the Blue/Gray, Hula or East/West... The Senior Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 28 in Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile. The game will be televised by ESPN.
