This is B.S. So the Miami players can around South Beach like the Wolfpack, looking for strippers and cocaine, and get a one-game ruling for most of the pack, but we have to sit on Shep for who knows how long?
It's not big enough to get moved to the top of their priority list. I doubt if they have even looked at it yet with all of the big scandals going on. Shepard may get off light, but LSU can't afford to play him and risk a forfeit if he doesn't.
I think they already have and LSU is sitting on the information while we appeal the suspension length. I have heard Shep originally got the standard suspension of 6 games.
I just don't understand how the NCAA can make this kind of ruling. Especially with the laughable suspensions to Miami players and the scam newton precedent. Shep is everything the NCAA should want as an ambassador of college athletics. Model citizen and student athlete. The kid made a minor mistake and gets half his season taken away.
If he is going to miss 6 games, is it possible to just redshirt him and let him miss the whole season and have him back for two more full seasons?
Don't think it will come to that. We likely appealed asking for 2 games and it will end up being 2-4 games. Even if 6 games we are going to need him when he returns.
Never heard what he actually did initially concerning housing, and where was the administrative oversight?
