Hey guys,
Did y'all hear anything about the shuttle bus running again? Someone said they heard on the radio about a last minute change.

The recently discontinued Capital Area Transit System game-day service for LSU home football games has been reinstated, according to a news release from Downtown Development District Executive Director Davis Rhorer’s office.

The service will resume for the Saturday, Sept. 9, LSU vs. Arizona game.

A temporary plan for the service was worked out by Mayor Kip Holden’s office, the DDD and CATS, the news release said.

“A combination of an increase in the fare to $15 for this weekend and a pledge from my company, Cyntreniks LLC, to subsidize any financial gap incurred for this game provided the foundation for the agreement,” said Brace B. Godfrey, Jr., chairman of the DDD.

“The goal of all concerned is to establish a $10 roundtrip fare as soon as possible,” said Godfrey, “and our plans are to get back together next Tuesday and start working towards that fare.”

“The Mayor’s office and CATS have diligently worked with the DDD to get the buses rolling, and, on behalf of all LSU supporters, we sincerely thank them for their efforts,” Rhorer said.

The news release said that under the temporary plan:

* Round-trip bus fare will be $15.00 per passenger.

* Bus service to the game will start from the Third Street bus stop at North Boulevard and Third Street beginning on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. and will continue every hour until the last bus departs for Tiger Stadium at 3:45 p.m.

* Return bus service after the game will begin from the side of the stadium adjacent to the Mike the Tiger’s cage immediately after the game with the last bus leaving exactly one hour after the end of the game.

* A police motorcycle escort will be provided for the 12:45, 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 departures.

* Passengers using the bus service are encouraged to park in the downtown Third Street parking garage.

* Tickets can be purchased for the buses at the shuttle stop on North Boulevard on Saturday.
