Wow... Only player ever to have 4 passing TDs and 4 INTs in one game. Also among his many punting records, one stood out because Donnie Jones was 4th on the list which was punting average in a season. NFL Network does their top 10 lists. I just watched the one about the most versatile players ever and Baugh was rated #1. 1. Sammy Baugh 2. Paul Hornung 3. Deion Sanders 4. Chuck Bednarik 5. Troy Brown 6. Kordell Stewart 7. Doug Vrabel (???????) 8. Brian Mitchell 9. George Blanda 10. Tom Matte Baugh still holds the record for highest punting average in a single season at 51 yards per punt.
Sammy Baugh lived in Temple, TX up until he was 16 -- same hometown of Hall-of-Fame DT Mean Joe" Greene -- and same hometown of Lache Seastrunk, one of the top RB prospects for 2010 (he is undecided between LSU and Texas).
