That seems pretty high to be, how many schools play interscholastic basketball in the NCAA at all divisions? The NBA has what, 60 draft picks total? There were way to many teams listed on the 3 divisions for me to try and count, but I'd bet there at least 700-800 teams, that would be about 9,000 players.
Ya every year someone leaves for a pro sport too early and it kills their careers. If your talent doesn't resemble Lebron or Vick just stay in college and get your degree, or atleast just stay in college to get a higher draft pick.
