1. How did you know I was gonna ask?

When I drive down I stock up on stuff from the grocery store, and usually just get savoy's since that is what they have. (Thank goodness for the extra freezers in the garage!) I will look for the Folse next time, though. iI usually shop at the dorgniacs in nola (metairie) and they generally have good stuff so there is a good chance they will have it.

  2. How do you get your wife to drive all other the state to get you good eats?
  3. :hihi: She does a lot of work in Austin...
  4. NoLImit,

One time when your wife goes to Austin, have her come back through Lockhart. Go to Black's BarBQ, it's great. She can pick up a couple lbs. of BBQ Brisket, and it will knock your lights out! There ribs are great also, but the brisket travels easy. That's my best food tip in Tx. They have been in business since 1932!

  5. If you ever come through Ville Platte, Teets grocery has some very good pure pork sausage!

  6. Kreuz and Smittys are also good, plus they have a family feud thing going on. Lockhart has good eating.
  7. Wow, I went John Folse's web site to see about picking up some of this. They want like $26 a pound for the stuff. Does it cost that much in the stores too?

  8. i have savoies to put in the gumbo i am making tomorrow.
  9. Savoie's is one of my favorites and was the only grocery store sausage I bought until recently. I buy Richard's now, but it is not readily available in all stores. Both are good.

Always thought Manda's was highy overrated.
