It was macy not smacker. The little one from 6 or so years ago.

 

Those pics are not the best angle to see it from. You have to see it from the 1st base side where the ball is firmly in the catcher's glove just prior to the runner. And lsutiga is right, there was an option for a hook slide so IMO, the runner was out.

 

She's already blocking the plate and I can't call that "in the act of catching the ball."
