As much as you guys love to bitch about the refs/umps I'm shocked no one here mentioned how practically every pitch last night from Barnhill was illegal. There's not a thing a coach can do about it happening, but there needs to be something. There are too many quality pitchers out there with similar stats--but doing it legally.
What was she doing that was illegal and why wouldn't the LSU coach say something about it to the umpire?
A coach can't say anything about illegal pitches. It's much like judgment calls in football not being reviewable. There's two things she's doing that's illegal. One, crow hopping. And two, leaving the pitching lane. From last night:
