1. that Ohio State deserves the hype this year...
    Based on last year's stats...
    70th in rushing offense
    80th in passing offense
    37th in total defense...

It seems to me that this is one of those teams that is extremely overhyped because they have one "playmaker" type guy on offense that can apparently fend off waves of defenders with a mere thought...
  2. They're basing all the hype off of what happened in the last 2-3 games last year. tOSU showed something people haven't seen from them in years...offensive production. I'm not sold.
  3. Stats are based on OSU's Whole Year performance. They put all the pieces together late and were very good at the end, stomping Michigan. Ask Les Miles to convince you about OSU, they stomped him 33-7 in the Alamo Bowl :hihi:

I seem to remember a team from Baton Rouge that struggled in 2004 with a few losses after a National Championship year. And, Tressel is 40-11 at OSU, those numbers remind me of another coach. :yelwink2:

    Here's OSU's record (8-4) last year.

Trivia question? Who won the 2002 NC game?

Anyway, if LSU doesn't win a NC this season, I hope the respect for our program (stemming from our 2003 NC & top recruiting not unlike OSU) allows LSU to gather the same love in 2006 that is being given to OSU in 2005.
  4. Tressel's a great coach. They seemed like they shoulda lost just about every game in 2002 but they squeaked out each one. That was all coaching, because there's no way that they had near as much talent as Miami. I'm not sure Tressel can pull another year out of the hat like he did in 2002, so I have to think it's between Iowa and Michigan who have way more talent than Ohio St.

  5. dude... OSU got a lot of guys in the NFL... dont give it ALL to Tressel

OSU lost that game too by the way in my book...

they got it handed to them all year...

won't happen this year, b/c Texas manhandles them early on
  6. One of my beefs is that when texas tears them a new one, the media will say texas is the second coming and will be even more annoying...
  7. A lot of low round draft picks. Clarett was the only star, and he missed almost the whole 2nd half of the regular season due to injury. That was a very late flag, but look at the replay and it was pass interference. It's better to go back and get it right, than to give Miami the championship on a bad call. I know you're gonna say that Miami thought they won and were celebrating on the field and the call killed their momentum afterwards, because we've had this argument many times. They got the call right, and they let the game be decided on the field.
  8. i just think that WAY worse has gone uncalled...

at the end of the game, i like the leniancy, b/c I think players should win the games, not the referees, and a kinda/sorta pass interference call at the end of the title game is bogus
  9. College football has so much turnover that when a team has a lot of starters returning and a lot of good looking redshirts appearing on the scene for the first time that prognosticators will tend to like their chances. tOSU has about 18-19 starters coming back from a team that was very good at the end of the year. if they aren't very good I will be very surprised.
  10. Kinda/sorta? The defender had both arms around Gamble as he turned around for the pass. The fact that the flag was late is the issue.
