Just looking at the top 5, LSU has 2 5 stars, Notre Dame 3, LSU is killing on the 4 stars and only has less 3 stars than Florida. How do they justify having LSU at 5th. Ohio State is at 4 and LSU has more commits, more 5 stars, more 4 stars, and more 3 stars yet OSU is still ahead. How does this shit work?

High 4* players are worth more points that low 4* players. It's all pretty arbitrary when you get that granular, though. In any given year, there may be little to no difference between #1 and #5. Sometimes it's easy to see where the gap is between the indistinguishable top teams and everyone else.

They have rating points as well as star rankings. I've learned to start sorting the rivals list by points instead of stars to get a feel for the talent level.

In this case, a little of both. I'll go into detail when I have more time.

The two guys are Ferguson and Mills

As you can see, they have Ferguson as the #1 LS in his class, and that was the same with about everybody, so if they gave 5-stars to long snappers, he'd be a 5 star or at least high 4 star LS. He very well might have started as our LS this year even if we hadn't lost our two top long snappers to graduation

As for Mills, he beat out every other CB on our roster (Collins, Thomas, Raymond, Holmes) as TM7's replacement ...and every other CB on our roster was ranked higher than him as a recruit other than Holmes, who switched over from WR

So in other words just finish in top 15 and you have a solid class, is that accurate?

There is enough talent out there that this may be true.
