so no one talking about the state of union last night? any thoughts? I liked the speech. thought some of it was forced, looked kind of tense in there, but overall I liked it. Really liked the part about cutting the tax breaks the oil companies get, of course they would just raise the price of gas.

Anyone agree with anything he said? Anyone notice John Boehner is more Orange than Neyland Stadium?

I gave up watching them several years ago. They don't mean a damn thing they say except when they have total control. I just end up getting pissed off because you can't believe them. This morning when I read the paper, and saw that he conveniently omitted any mention of the spill and deep water drilling, I got pissed off. At least I wasn't pissed last night :)

I missed Nancy back there shaking her pom poms.

So Barry spends like crazy for 2 years and now that he's raised the bar he wants to freeze it there? Yeah, Barack. We're stupid.

I don't understand how we are going to "invest" in infastructure and education all while freezing discretionary spending for five years.

True that. Obama thinks he can deliver his message in velvety tones and the peasants will lap it up. Not any more. The voters told him to stop this crap and the House will try to make him stop.

there was alot of conversation about that afterwards, some points he was talking about freezing spending for 5 years and at times he said things that the government would invest in. A double standard.

You know if they actually did some of the stuff they talked about in those speeches, we may get somewhere.

    He even mentioned tort reform.

Swerved It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Sabanfan was referring to Obama's voters.. I think he's referring to the 70% of them that are pissed at congress. Which down from ~85% since some of them were fired in November.

As far as the speech, I quit watching them some years ago. The first 2 years of an administration they talk about how bad the last guy screwed it up and what they want to do to fix it. The last 2 years of an administration, it's all about campaign promises to get votes. It's all bullsh!t, folks.. and it's bad for ya.

So if 70% are pissed at congress does that mean they are still pissed at congress? Last time I checked they haven't done sh!t. I mean hell, Obama was being called the worst President ever even before election day. This congress has been in office for over 20 days, and they haven't done anything except try give the insurance companies all their money back and use "the will of the people" as an excuse to undo the healthcare plan, which if you look at the polls is alot closer to 50/50 than they would have you believe.

Ezra Klein - Americans do not want repeal

in fact, most Americans do not want repeal, yet all the Republican and Tea Party people in Congress and the Senate would lead you to believe that all Americans want it repealed.

America wanted change, Obama promised it, we got little of it, GOP promised change, still America is going to get little of it. Same ole Sh!t in Washington.
