1. We're killing them near Cat Island off of Pass Christian, MS. We'll fish under the birds and murder them for about 20 minutes until the dolphins find our spot then when the dolphins show up, the specks quit biting.

Caught about 60 last Sunday. Going again this Sunday (Father's Day).

Seems like there are a TON more dolphins around right now. I think the oil has pushed concentrated numbers of them here.
  2. I think it should be an unspoken rule that pictures must be posted in the Sportman's Paradise forum. Mostly so I can crop your mug out and put mine in and pass it off to my co workers.:hihi:

    That is pretty cool, though.
  3. You are killing those of us that can't fish here. Expect company. :D
  4. I know. I didn't get an invite... Did you?
  5. We went out today and I hooked into a couple of trout....nothing like last time. We chased birds on the way in and the dolphins got there right as we did and only caught a huge gaff top that I fought for about 5 minutes. The kids liked it though.

We came across this. A casualty from the oil, no doubt. :(
  6. anybody been lately? I'm needing to get out there.
  7. not yet, but in the very near future, I hope to hit that canal and lake we passed through.
  8. That killed me not having a rod and reel. I am convinced we would have made a great day even better!

    Keep me posted.
  9. I have great memories when I was a kid of surf fishing and fishing off the old bridge at Grand Isle with my dad and my brother.

    Loved fishin' for them specs.

Watching the BP oil spill footage from Grand Isle was highly depressing.

Thanks for starting this thread CS, even though it was 2 months back.
You too KyleK for bumpin' it.

The good memories are comin' back. :thumb:
  10. We went out into the Bay last weekend right under the bridge (we had kids with us and didn't want them getting too hot!) and caught 75 white and speckled trout and a couple of Drum in about 2 hours...was a good day! Mike even caught three fish with NO bait! :D
