I agree that Pete acted like a little baby at the presser but to jump to the conclusion that it's because he's selfish and doesn't care about his kids is ridiculous. Let me ask you all this. Do you think Sanchez should have gone pro? Because i certainly don't. He needs another year and will improve his draft stock. I'd be surprised if he is an early first rounder and I don't care what anyone says. I may be wrong but I think he's making a mistake. Having said that, it's probable that Pete was pissed because the kid is making a poor decision and not because he won't have a qb next year. I very much hate to say it, but pete carroll has shown more class than to be pissed off at a kid who does the right thing for himself but negatively impacts the program.

It depends on what his intentions are. If it's to be the No.1 overall pick and get handsomely paid, then he's making the right decision, given Bradford, Tebow, and McCoy's decision to come back. If he wants to be the best pro he can be, then he probably needs another year of college experience. He obviously chose the money and there's nothing wrong with that at all.

i think you are missing the point. if he has reservations about a players decision, that is his right. its HOW HE HANDLED IT. any reservations should have been brought up with the player and his family in private. you do NOT bash the kid and belittle his decision in public.

whatever the kids does, when he announces it, the coach should stand by his side and thank him for all he gave to his college program, smile, and wish him nothing but success. if the coach is too big a douchbag to be able to do that, he keeps his furlin mouth shut!

A piece of me thinks Pete was maybe sending a message to the rest of the team as well. Still, wrong podium. Pete is gonna have to chew on this turd for awhile.

Think about the next quarterback or whomever that goes to Sanchez for the same advice...

This is what I said. Read the first sentence carefully. I didn't dwell on the fact that what he did in the press conference was very close to despicable because anyone can see that. What I was addressing were the comments that Pete Carroll doesn't care about his kids and is only out for himself and that's what he showed here. He showed poor judgment but not an apathy towards his players well beings. Specifically, I was responding to the following comments.

So to sum up. IMO

1. Pete was way wrong for the way he acted
2. Pete does care about his kids and was upset because he felt like one of them made a decision that was not in their best interest.

sure it does. if a team knows theres no credible guys remaining after the first two rounds. they reach on whats available.


tebow will likely go 2nd or 3rd because some team will take a shot. as well as mccoy.

Not at all! There's one reason everyone goes to college...to get a good paying job. If you could go to college for 2 years and get a good paying job, wouldn't you go too? i sure would.
