If not for these 2 guys playing lights out, LSU would've lost this game. Hester was a beast and was not going to be stopped on the 3rd and 4th and shorts. Running like that, Williams can keep sitting as far as I'm concerned. Scott and Williams can't get the yards he gets between the tackles. I knew in the second half that Steltz made a lot of good tackles, but I watched the 1st half again yesterday and he was making tackles at the line of scrimmage. He was all over the place. He was the defensive player of the game IMO.
And Les Miles having cajones the size of wrecking balls!!! that also had something to do with... but these two guys are beast and when they put the game in the hand of Hester... I knew we were going to win...
I think Matt Flynn threw one bad ball and made two poor decisions all night. Other than that, he was fantastic. Still, without a 100% healthy Early Doucet, the Tigers will not win the SEC or the National Title. Tigers would have lost to UF Saturday night had that game been on a neutral field.
Steltz was responsible for that long TD pass. Personally, I think Steltz has been the defensive MVP for the season so far, but I thought Highsmith was this week. But nobody's name belongs with Hester's this week. He alone was the difference. He should be the guy called on to get the tough yards and always should have been.
That's what i've been saying. Thank God for our favorable schedule. Wasn't too concered looking back on that one. Even LaRon gave up some...:thumb:
Oh, sure, it happens. Nobody is perfect. Just saying, if we going to grade Steltz's performance this week, that play needs to be mentioned. Still, he's had a great year and has really made a name for himself.
Urban Meyer and his OC were responsible for that awesome play-call. I hope Les and Crowton steal it and use it against the Gators on December 1st. :tigerhead It would be acceptable to use it against Alabama also.
I am not in total agreement with these 2 statements. The Tigers beat what could be the number 2 team in the nation without Doucet and not playing our best while Fla. was firing on all cylinders. And who knows, on a neutral site with artificial turf, like Atlanta, our speed might multiply. That being said, I am looking forward to Doucet returning as Lafell and one of the Mitchells are having dropsies.
Les Miles deserves the credit for your win. I don't know if you guys realize the fact that on all four touchdown possesions, Miles went for it on fourth down in every one of them and twice on the game winner.
