It could get uglier. Say at the end of the season USC and OU are BCS 1-2 with Auburn 3 but the AP has USC and Auburn 1-2 with OU 3. So it plays out...OU beats USC ugly...maybe a late interception for a TD or just an all around lack luster performance on both sides. Meanwhile Auburn smokes the 4 team ,whoever that may be. In essence, no matter how much lobbying a coach does, it could still wind up ugly. AP would move #2 Auburn to 1 and OU is 1 in BCS. Two years, two split champions. I don't blame Stoops for playing the game with the media. If you point out a bias it may make a person think before voting. I just don't think ESPN/ABC's contract with the SEC has anything to do with it. They want the best possible match-up but the more controversial the better.
i dont think he was saying he agreed with USC being there. I think he insuated dumb people believed it.
I agree this scenario is the best possible thing that could happen for a playoff system to come about. Think about the revenue of an additional game of 2 unbeatens coming out of the bowl matchups. It would rake in the money. #1 BCS VS #4 , #2 VS #3 then the winners in the big game for all the marbles. It adds only 1 game to the season and would be a great lead in to the Super Bowl. Think of last year and an LSU/USC matchup for it all. That would have been a great game as well and think of the ratings and advertising dollars that would have generated. The only question then would be all the people with their hand out wanting some of the money generated. Geaux LSU Tigers
No we don't. F playoffs. I like the BCS. I wish the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAA College Basketball, and all the lower college football divisions would all adopt the BCS. :yelwink2:
I wish ALL competitions for EVERYTHING FOREVER could be determined by the BCS. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
