The position of many fans of the Memphis Grizzlies is that Stromile Swift's coaches at LSU said that Stromile is lazy.

I was wondering if any LSU fans could provide me any information either supporting or refuting this attack against Swift.

    Thanks in advance.

I've never heard that said about Stromile by Brady or anybody else for that matter while he was down here. Why? Is he being tagged as lazy there?

Stro's got some rediculous skills - my question was always weather or not he missed his prime in terms of development. Was he too focused on jumping out of the gym rather than running an offense? As far as laziness, this is the first time I've heard it suggested...

Sorry bud but Stro is not a guy that will ever get fat. Last year, whenever he got decent PT he put up good numbers. His athleticism is so sick that if he could ever get a dependable 15' jumper he would be a solid player.

Years ago, when the Knicks hoped to draft Swift . . . that exact "lazy" thing was mentioned in the NYPost and NY Daily News. That rep has stuck with him in the NBA. I'm not so sure you could say lazy (considering a lazy pro player is not the same as a lazy regular person), but he doesn't have a strong work ethic (according to Jerry West).

Swift has all the talent in the world, and I'd like to see him end up a Hornet one day. But since he has been in the NBA that lazy tag has stuck with him. The other knock on Swift is that he is not a full team player, rarely working overtime to better himself. West also said that Swift needs to learn to play pro basketball and not rely on his raw ability. Basically if he would work harder during the offseason on the stuff he hates doing, the rep would more than likely drop.

The Grizz were pretty good last year and should be even better with another year of Hubie Brown molding the young guys. Stro has started off and on just about his entire career in Memphis. His potential is unlimited but there are a lot of times when he doesn't do the little things. Helpside defense, blocking out, etc. I'm still a big fan of his and hopes he gets to that next level. Gasol and Lorenzen Wright are good frontcourt players. Stro has played some PF and some C, usually either starting or backing up Wright.

To be honest, not only is he labelled "lazy" ... but people in Memphis also say that Stromile Swift "cannot learn the offense"..... "constantly looks lost" .... "is dumb as a brick" .... "loses focus" .. etc

I would invite everyone here to check out the Memphis Grizzlies message boards at http://www.nba.com/grizzlies (the team talk section)

Input by any and all fans who saw Swift play in LSU is appreciated.
