1. I have the Sugar Bowl in SVCD (Super Video Compact Disc) format, captured from VHS. 4 disks total, including pre-game & post game interviews. SVCD plays on most newer computers, and DVD players (like mine). $15.00 postage paid. Many other games available in MPEG1 or VCD (Video Compact Disc).

    :lsug:
  2. SVCD and VCD2.0 are the formats used in China a few years ago. Most DVD players sold in USA will not play such formats. Only some DVD players from China, such as APAX, can play this kind of format.
    Why SVCD not DVD?
  3. Because I don't yet have a DVD burner. My DiGix DVD player plays them as well as this computer.
  4. most newer model American DVD players can play SVCDs.....and I can vouch that the quality is very close to dvd quality.....
  5. But if it is "captured from VHS", then wouldn't the quality be only as good as VHS?
  6. Any idea if it would work on a dvd player used on a playstation 2?
  7. No, it wont. Apex isnt the only brand that will play that format. I know at Best Buy about half of their DVD players explicitly state whether or not they can play VCD.
