    Any idea who'll start Sunday?

Anyout out of the combo of:

    Bourgeois
    Matulis
    Rittiner

Maybe all of them trying to get 2-3 quality innings a piece out of each.

even tho i have no idea, my first thought was rittiner.

I think PM announced that it would be Bourgeois.

Stats for each against Bama this year:

    Rittiner: 0-0, 1 save, 3 innings, 1 ER
    Matulis: 0-0, 6.2 innings, 3 ER
    Bourgeois: 1-0, 5.1 innings, 4 ER

Now, Ott only has 1 IP in the weekend and Bama is the team he infamously demolished for 7 innings in the season.

I'd never suggest he'd start, but if he could get 3-6 outs and build some confidence, I'd be all for it.

i wouldnt. when he got rocked as a starter a few weeks ago, it seemed to shake him bad. i dont want to to there again. i think he can be used an inning or two in middle relief, but not multiple innings as a starter.

edit to add: i cant find the article, but i could have sworn i read a statement by cpm after the fiasco of ott starting before saying something to the effect of "never again".

    no, no.

I meant I'd be all for him getting 1-2 innings.

    Not a start.

    Definitely not.

    Never again. :)

No chance of a Ranaudo start?

It would be sweet, but no sense risking a tender arm with the NCAA coming up.

We are peaking at tournament time in true Skip Bertman fashion. All of the pitchers will have to step up.
