Yeah, I'm not for cold weather super bowls...but I can appreciate it being in NY/NJ. Its an attractive venue for a super bowl, playing conditions aside. The only thing that bothers me is that the owners are seemingly the only ones who wanted it to be in New York, not the coaches and surely not the players. Oh well.

As I said, I really enjoy games that are played outside, games that the weather is a part of the game. The best teams should be able to play in no matter the conditions. Granted some teams are not suited to play in climate weather, but why wouldn’t the better team rise to the occasion regardless. My hope is that now that the owners have opened the door to Super Bowls being played outside up north again, now it will pave the way for games to be played in Chicago, Green Bay, New England, Seattle, Philly, Pittsburg, Washington DC., etc., those are the stadiums that are exciting to watch the Super Bowl, to me. I’m sure it won’t happen, but it would be nice, rather than watching games that are played in domes or only in stadiums in the south. I know the at game experience is more comfortable in those atmospheres, but to me it isn’t real football. Real football is to be played in the fall and winter where it was born. Born to have the elements play a role in the outcome of the competition. Maybe I'm too much of a purist, but that is my take. Of course that is with the exception of the Saints and the Superdome, that is ok with me because that is the home of the Who Dats!!!!!

PURPLE TIGER HOPE is not a strategy!

    1) It's not a very nice stadium
    2) It's not close to downtown or the restaurants/hotels in the Gaslamp
    3) You have to have a NFL team to host the Super Bowl (that might be a problem if San Diego doesn't lock down a long term contract)(I believe they have one year remaining on their lease)

No place better than New Orleans! :laflagwav|lombardi|Saintslogo

PURPLE TIGER HOPE is not a strategy!

Like most things in professional sports it's not about the game or the fans. It's ALL about the money!

I hope it snows. I hope for freezing rain. I hope Al Gore attends and slips on the ice that accumulates from global warming.

I enjoy superbowls in indoor stadiums. I'd like to see who the best team is when conditions are pristine and weather is not a factor.

Hopefully there will be 10 ft of snow, 30 below temps, 15 turn overs and a final score of 3-0. That way we can end the stupidity immediately.
