Its amazing to me that people still thank that Marcus should be the starter.
I'm an LSU fan and I'd love nothing better than to see Marcus excel at qb
but it aint going to happen, it looked like the same old thing from 2002 if not worse.

That was the worst performance from a 5th year senior I've ever seen in any sport
    from any game.

Its funny how some people around here want to trash Russell and say neither qb was
any good but Russell is a true freshman and totally outplayed Marcus leading to 2 td
    drives.

You better think your lucky stars that Randall ran that last td in because that was about the only right decision he made in the whole game.
If he threw the ball we would've lost.

    End of story....

I support MR as a student athelete and a great sportsman but right now think the sucess of this team is with JR at #1 qb.

There is no doubt that this is the case. MR cannot cut it nor will he "grow" to cut it on an SEC Championship level. Russell was not perfect, but he talent was still obvious. He had his first NCAA playing time when his team's backs were against the wall versus a decent major conference foe. Yes, he missed a throw or two that he shouldn't have, but he made some excellent throws once he gained a comfort level IN HIS FIRST EVER COLLEGE GAME. And, unlike Randall, he didn't make stupid throws. He has poise and passing ability that Randall will never know.

I mean, if you didn't know which one was the senior and which one was the freshman, wouldn't you have guessed Russell was the veteran based on their performance? Honestly. Don't lie to yourself because the truth is clear. And, the true answer to that question confirms who the starting QB has to be now.

I've not been in either the pro-Marcus or pro-JaMarcus camps. Whoever is the best - that's who I want at QB. It would also have been nice to compare the two of them under more ideal playing conditions than on Saturday night.

Having said that, it seemed to me that in general execution Russell was much more crisp than Randall. He really sold the play fakes on play-action passes and generally seemed to have more "presence" on the field than did Randall. His passing stats were indeed poor, but a few of those incompletions were on dropped balls - and yes, some of those drops came because he threw the ball like a bazooka.

I noticed on several swing passes that both quarterbacks threw the ball poorly - throwing it behind the running back or at his ankles. So there is much work to be done at that position, but I will support whoever is under center for LSU.

DId anyone notice that Randall shot-puts the ball on some of his passes. the ugliest thing I've ever seen. maybe, it was the wet ball, but damn, that is an ugly release.

as far as JR, remember how chris leak hit the scene last year for the gators? I would prefer to take my lumps with an exciting, young talented QB who has enough talent around him to make a run for the SEC championship and 9 or 10 wins this year. this team is loaded with offensive talent and would rather get JR in there for a season to make a bonafide run for another BCS championship in 2005. although I may hear relentless whining from that statement since we would all like to win the NC every year, let's be realistic here.

Randall is a good kid. However I hope he never takes another Snap for LSU unless Jamracuss Russell gets hurt. Look I never booed him, He played pretty much as I expected. He is NOT a good game QB. He cannot handle it. I am proud he is a tiger but he needs to never take another Snap at QB for LSU. He just does not have what it takes. People ripped us Anti-Randall people as Non fans etc etc, no thats not it at alll. I like Randall but I (And about 92,000 people last night) saw all we needed to see, he deserved his shot, he got it and did the best he could.

LSU looked terrible last night, it will be a long season if that is what we got, allowing a Pac-10 team come in and do that, is well sorry a bit embarrasing.. UGA, Auburn, UF you name are licking their chops right now, but there is hope.

Anyway, Thanks Randall for being a great Tiger, but its time for you to step aside and realize SEC QB is not for you.

I think to be fair, JR was up against a tired OSU defence with better protection and slower pursuit by the defence; he had the luxury of more time to look for receivers. He is still green, but , no doubt he will be the future of the team.

On the other hand, MR was not as well protected at the time the whole offense was not clicking. I think Saban will give him one or two more chances to prove himself. If he still is subpar, then I will concede that he's better as a backup. Do people still remember the game in 2002 when he was voted player of the week? I believe he has the abiliity but has to show consistency. We will wait on Saban's decision.
