I was wondering if somebody could help me out... I'm making my way down from Chicago with some of my friends for the football game this weekend. We hope to plan on tailgating before the game (as I hear it's nuts down there!)... Where is an easy place to find parking, and how long can you generally leave your vehicle in the lots after the game (if you plan on attending)? Any help would be much appreciated! Excited to check out LSU :tigerhead!!!

New Rules For Game Day LSU Announces New and Revised Stadium Rules This Football Season Sep 4, 2007 08:58 PM LSU football changes tailgating rules There are just four days to go before the first LSU home game of the 2007 season, but before you lower the tailgates and fire up the pits, LSU officials want to alert you to some major changes taking place this year. WAFB's Cheryl Mercedes explains what changes we can expect. The changes mainly have to do with traffic and tailgate parking, but for those of you who like to wheel out the double drum barbecue pits, you might want to get your measuring sticks out before you hit the road. Come Saturday, Tiger Stadium will be flooded with tens of thousands of fans when they take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. LSU officials have implemented a couple of changes that could cause some tailgating turmoil. LSU Police Chief Ricky Adams points specifically to oversized barbecue pits. He says, "Over the years, people have come out with bigger, bigger, and bigger bbq pits, almost the size of trailers. We're not allowing anything bigger than the 55-gallon drum." You also might want to pay special attention to where you park that pit. The signs have been posted. You won't be able to park on Nicholson between North Stadium Drive and Gourrier Lane before 7 pm on Fridays. Also, if you're used to parking at Fairway, it's time to come up with a new plan. Construction at Alex Box has forced the lot at Fairway to be closed this season. The good news is the university has created some extra parking at River Road. LSU parking director Gary Graham says, "The athletic department has expanded and leveled the lots and put in some culverts to hold thousands of cars." In the past, traffic on Burbank was one-way going away from campus to ease post-game congestion. Construction there has prompted a change. Now, traffic on Nicholson Drive will be one-way going south in both lanes, starting at Brightside Drive and West Lee Drive, continuing to Bluebonnet Boulevard. Certain make-shift vehicles are banned from LSU games this year, too. Another big change is smoking will not be allowed anywhere in the stadium this year.
