1. Truth of the matter is coach O was out of coaching not long ago. Got offered a dream job where each sec win above .500 is worth about a million dollars. Im sure theres some kind of formula.

Does anyone think he gives a shit about his offensive rankings when he's close to 10-2 and being entrenched as LSU's hc now 5 more years and an even bigger payday. From cutting grass at south lafourche hs to 5 mill per the reality is he doesn't give a shit.

He's not Will Wade with a NC long term view I do not believe. At least not yet. Whats the march madness saying survive and advance. It's one game at a time and Oeaux's been successful with that. That's why he's smiling after each interview and who can blame him. Hes establishing himself as a viable coach in the best of leagues mostly determined by his overall record.

That's why we're running the clock out in the prevent offense most games. His offensive coordinator is of little concern bc he's dictating to him as Les miles did for over a decade. We're in the same boat unfortunately. Once Les became established he was happy holding on to his job just winning and running the clock out as well.

We're already there again. Truth is coaches are hired to win games not score fantasy points. Or develop an offense unfortunately. Try to enjoy the record because the games themselves can be painful to watch when approached this way. No one following this program in the modern era needs a refresher course.

We better hope Lynn Swann doesn't fire Clay Helton and come calling on Aranda because he's the key to holding it all together. Being a west coast guy and all thats the one job he'd likely take. And Oeaux's binder to success looks a lot less promising.
  2. Aranda won't leave unless there is a bigger pay day.
  3. How'd that worked out for him in the end, though? Coach O better take notes. He ain't got a national championship to fall back on either...
  4. During Oeaux's interim tenure I said that he had made watching LSU football fun again. It was not fun 2 weeks ago and even though we won last night it was painful to watch. Much like Miles last 4 1/3 seasons.

  5. If he were hired as USC's head coach he would get a big pay raise.

  6. All coaches jobs end the same way minus Saban. 12 years is crazy success in this league.

  7. Usc would pay him 4mill I think.
  8. And O told you that in a private conversation?
  9. Less not give a sheet and more coaching not to lose or gamble on aggressive scoring. The worse part of that skin of the teeth approach is your 2nd/3rds do not get in game reps/experience.

  10. The record is great but it's masking some serious problems. The worst thing that could happen, long term, is for LSU to decide that a great W/L record = stay the course.

We are like a baseball team with great pitching and no bats. It would be very naive to think we can keep winning (or ever win the West) this way. Unsustainable.
