With the exception of the '85 Bears, the Dome Patrol was the best defense in NFL history. Definately, the best LB corp of all time. You may want to turn down the sound though. The song in the background is unbearable.

I was a bit young back then, but I remember Sam Mills quite vividly (even though I was like 9). Great post!

if you think that was the #2 defense of all-time, you have short term memory *cough, cough* Baltimore Ravens.

No, I remember Baltimore's defense. They were only dominant for that one year. The Dome Patrol was the No.1 in the NFL for several years in a row. That's why I think they were better.

Ah my first real memories of Saints games were Ricky Jackson, Sam Mills, Vaughn Johnson and Pat Swilling absolutely stuffing opposing offenses

they were just voted by ESPN.com as the No. 1 most feared defense in the NFL now, some 5-6 years later with the same cast of characters.

plus, they won the superbowl... with an offense lesser than the saints had, i might add.

Good for them. I still don't think they're better.

You're probably too young to remember them, but that's ok. :thumb:

To his point though, when has the NATION given Louisiana sports any respect? It's all about opinion anyway, so nobody is right or wrong, correct?
