I only know what I read here, but it is an INNOVATION, and I think it speaks well of our coaching staff. Miles said when he did the co coordinators that he'd watched the staff meetings, he wanted people that were aggressive and innovative, and he felt Mallory and Peveto had demonstrated that they were. I like the innovation, the willingness to strategize and try something new. I didn't notice it in the game, but with an end the size of Jackson, it could work, and also with RJF when he comes back. I still like Alem when I see him, very quick! I like his energy. He's become one of my favorites on the defense.
I did notice Jackson line up inside once...he and Aleim pulled a stunt when Jackson got one of his sacks. I was wondering WTH was going on
Jackson played his azz off that game, I was very happy with his energy. He showed first round skills that game.
I think the express is great strategy, I think it will prove well against the spread offense, with speed up front.
Well, . . . it still needs tweaking. We got pressure on the QB like we haven't had all year. The speed and agility were good. But the lane discipline was bad. Four or five times the quarterback would escape from a collapsing pocket and make positive yardage. Big yardage a few times. Stop that flaw and the sacks would have doubled.
This could be successful at times. I like the idea, but something I noticed was that there was not much pressure up the middle. They came around the sides a lot and Garcia would just scramble up the middle. I think we need more pressure coming up the middle. Just my opinion. There was some good pressure on the QB at least this week, unlike the other weeks. Just seeing the QB scramble for 15 yds multiple times was mind numbing. Of course that could've been the 7Up & bourbon doing the numbing. The secondary still stinks.
