I am sure anyone who has been there already knows all of this.. but I got my first glimpse yesterday.....

What a joke this "nice" place is. It *might* look somewhat nice during the summer when the grass is green.... but all it is is a part of their campus roughly the size of LSU's parade grounds (likely much smaller) with trees. There was no grass anywhere, just dirt.

There were so many canpoies/tents in there that (as salty said) if it was pouring down raining you could walk from one side to the other of the grove without getting wet. They literally pile up on top of one another in this filthy dustbowl.

Their "tailgating" is a must see (entertainment/amusement purposes) for anyone visiting there for a game. We actually saw people with white gloves carefully carrying fine silver roasting pans through the grove. Flower arrangements are apparently a requirement for every tailgate as they were the centerpiece on just about every table under every canpy. I am not talking your run of the mill flower shop arrangement. These are much larger and outrageous.

Yes, that is right. They setup hundreds of canopies in the dirt under the trees, then they setup fine dining rooms under each one of them. They actually setup tables under canopies with fine tablecloths, nice chairs, and fine silverware with cloth napkins.

It was so very amusing to me whe I would come across the occasional LSU fans' canopies. I would see food all over, drinks, and just a general mess/clutter. :hihi: People just having a good time!

Oh yeah, salty had a "special" admirer near the bathroms there. Lets just say it was a ole miss guy with a blanket that was quite happy to see salty.

..... and I did not even talk about the silver candle holders and fine Elvis rebel flag.......
  2. I guess you missed the guy serving boiled shrimp one at a time to tailgaters in his group. I know no big deal right? Well he looked like a freaking butler! by the way he was doing it I could tell he wasn't a guest...He was freaking HIRED to do that crap. :dis:

these people need to get a grip on reality. the stands were empty by the end of the third. But I sorta understand that, it was FREEZING! :sob:

EDIT: I should have gotten a picture of the giant module in the Grove made up into a bathroom, ( not a bad idea ) EXCEPT on the side of it was written

"HOTTY TODDY POTTY POO"
  3. Just so everyone knows what grad is talking about here, the guy was grinning from ear to ear and dressed like a fairy. I asked him what he was grinning at and he said a soon to be loser. I just laughed. He walked off with that same stupid grin on his face staring at me. Whatever. And people say we have fags.

You're dead come Friday grad. :hihi:
  4. everytime that guy in the student section held up that sign "no kissing" I'd kiss my wife.

I noticed he left by the end of the 3rd Qtr. I guess the chaperone decided to give it up.
  5. lol.. a young woman in LSU attire ran up behind him and ripped the sign away!
  6. Gotta say, that was the first time I had been there too and that was a dead on description. The most boring place I've ever been to. I can't imagine why this place gets so much attention. I've been to Georgia, Florida, Bama, and now Ole Miss, and that was by far without question the worst away game I've ever been to. I'll never be back.

P.S. - This just made me laugh. On the way out of the stadium this one guy, about 45 or so, starts complaining and says "If we're gonna lose, I'd rather lose to a coach from the south than a yankee cocksucker." I just can't make this stuff up.
  7. I will say this though, we had a pretty good tailgate spot.

the place to Tailgate is NOT in the grove, it's between the baseball field and their stadium. We parked 20 ft from the tailgate area and only a 200 yards from the entrance to the stadium. :thumb:
  8. Glad you guys had a good time! I wanted to go, but I had a wedding to take care of back home
  9. I was walking around with two other people stopping and asking people where the Grove was....

Then one person said, "You are in the middle of it..." We all looked at each other and started laughing.
  10. For more details of what a joke of a place Ole Piss is, I could talk about the Ole Piss fans in the area where Berge and I were sitting...........
