A better system is if you have ANY affiliation with a conference that is ex player ex student ex coach, ex admin, you vote for everybody else so your preconceived notions/bias don't come into play, make every weeks' votes public and lastly absolutely no discussions amongst panelist.

That first suggestion is a tall order but I think that's fair and could be done.
