Thanks. Great article. Someone posted yesterday that he was never a big fan of Russell. I was a huge fan from that day on.

I get goose bumps every time I think about that play.

So many things stand out -- the courage to make the play call, to make the throw, and for Doucet to step up at the most critical time of the most critical game. The team overcoming absolutely tremendous obstacles and putting the state on their back...man, one of LSU's finest moments.

I had not seen electricity in weeks, but I made my way to hammond where I knew they had power and cable, and sat in buffalo wild wings for about 5 hours before the game, just enjoying the air conditioning and real food and cold beer... watched the game with about 100 people in the same position as me and freaked out when he caught that pass

We had some friends staying at our house cause their power was still out, and we were playing cards.

I distinctly remember leaving the table quite abruptly to jump up and down, nearly breaking the ceiling fan on that play.

I was in Alaska that day. We were driving from Portage Glacier back to Anchorage. I was following the score on my cell phone but my coverage was spooty at best.

As we pulled up to the hotel it had been about 12 minutes since I had gotten an update. I ran to the room and opened up the door and turn on the TV just as Russell releases the ball. I did not even see the score until after Doucet makes that catch. I danced around that room like a fool.

    It was a great day.
