You’re suggesting that the peak of infamy for a University of Oregon student is Ontario Smith getting stopped for a DUI?
Come on, Jeremiah Masoli did worse than that. :dis:

I'm talking about getting caught at the airport with the whizzinator! (It was a joke)

There's is Ruben Droughns who was caught with an indoor marijuana growing operation in Colorado.

For LSU I nominate Cecil the diesel...if infamy refers to criminal stuff.

But if infamy refers to legendary barroom stuff, I'd nominate the infamous....Art Cantrelle, (one of my heroes)

Art was one of the nicest gentlest people outside of a barroom. Give him a few beers though.

For infamy how about Billy Cannon Hiesman trophy winner and Counterfeiter? He did start a prison dental service which he still runs and has been a model citizen ever since.

Good call about Cannon...I remember getting fake $100 bills with Cannon's picture on them. One that I saw had his picture in an LSU helmet.

    Pretty funny.

Don't you love it when people turn their life around? That's something I always respect.

Those guys are the impressive local legends, Steve. The nationally infamous LSU Tiger is our All-American, Heisman Trophy-winning, Hall of Famer Billy Cannon and his federal counterfeiting conviction and imprisonment.

Cannon is who I had in mind when I asked the question but I wanted to see other names.

And yes, Cannon's story is a good story of redemption when you hear the whole story. He fought a lot of demons and beat them down; some took till the fourth quarter but he kept fighting.

Cannon fought demons hard till the fourth quarter....Most of the rest drank like demons till the fourth quarter.
