I'm sure you know who Wayne Toups is, my parents at times were the only people in the place while he played.

I had to Google the game. Looks like he became popular after I joined the Air Force and left La in the mid '60s.

I thought I had heard him before. He used to play at one of the casinos here. This is more swamp pop than rock and roll.

There was one song where every time I saw him GG Shinn would hold a sheet of paper with the lyrics while he sang.

You forgot TK Hulin and GG Shinn. Edgar Winter used to show up there to. Signorellis was a rough place sometimes. Once had a girl try to kick my ass in there. Wound up dancing with her later and almost getting into a fight with her boyfriend. The Boogie Kings were a kick ass band for years.

It's gone now but you can still hear a lot of swamp pop at Pat's Atchafalaya Club in Henderson. Bands like Louisiana Red, Foret Tradition and Nic L Beer show up. Warren Storm shows up now and then. If you want to recapture the feel and sounds of the golden days of swamp pop and the days of Signorellis try stopping at Red's Levee Bar in Catahoula. It's like going back in time there. I usually drop by for a beer after I fish the Basin and share my catch with everyone.

Say hello to Liz for me if you go by there.

    A little TK

Leaving today for another one of my jam weekends. We will be on the river in Enon until the 4th making good music, good food, and great memories. Life is pretty damned good.

Nah didn't forget them, they are all included . You mentioned Nic L Beer, I sang a David Allen Coe song at a show they did in the basin a long damn time ago. Man was I ever loaded, had to have sounded like shit but the people cheered and I got laid.
