There's a big "investigative" article on espn.com now about "The Pokey Mystery".
    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/ncaatourney07/news/story?id=2818123

Personally, I don't think that this particular story is appropriate just a few days before the Final Four. The focus should be on the players. The lead story at espn.com's women's bball page shouldn't be about Pokey.

Actually, I don't really like the tone of the article much at all. I wish they would just leave it alone and wait for Pokey to say something (if she wishes to at some point), rather than digging into phone/email records and speculating.

Interesting article. I did not care for the tone it took toward Carla Berry.

I didn't like the way they tie it in to the final four appearance in the light they did. Not like they were saying, "In spite of"- but more for the team's sake.

Won't matter much after we take the hardware back to Baton Rouge. I have this feeling if we win Sunday......we're taking it ALL. :thumb:

Screw Elizabeth Merrill- or better yet...."Poke" her. :hihi:

There are a lot of reporters out there trying to make a name for themselves. The more dirt they can dig up, the bigger their name. They are racing to become the first one with the Pokey scoop. I'm glad no one has succeeded yet and that the people involved are keeping to themselves. It will all come out in due time after the Final Four. All the reporters have to go on now is speculation and interviews with former people that were around her.

Judging from some of the letters after the article, not many approved of this reporters approach.

I just wish Pokey the best and hope that she can get on with her life.

That reporter doesn't know squat about basketball, and that article was clearly written to further stir the pot and get the public interested in watching the games.

She refers to Biddy Ball as "bitty ball." And Starkey apparently rests his head on his chin. This writer is what some refer to as an assclown. No cred, no style, no knowledge, and no class.

tabloid journalism. and i use the word journalism loosely.

i prefer to focus on how well the ladies are playing and what great representatives they are of my alma mater.
