So we are loosing 3 OL backups (C. Wire, M. Dumervil, and X. Hill). With Kelley’ s emphasis on Oline play, it’s understandable that some of our existing OL were going to be passed by as he upgraded the talent level. Seeing that 2 freshmen started ahead of them should have made them realize that their playing time was going to decrease when this years recruits showed up. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for them and I wish them well. I’m surprised that Kardell Thomas has joined them.
CB Jaelyn Davis-Robinson portals. Red-shirted this year, but we are now down to Laterrance Welch and Sevyn Banks in the CB room, with verbal commits from 4-stars Javien Toviano and Daylen Austin, and 3-stars Jeremiah Hughes and Ashton Stamps. Plus 4-star athlete Khai Prean.
Verbal commits from a 5-star and 2 4-star tackles at this point. The 5-star, Zalance Heard, grades out a little higher than Will Campbell on 247's board. If he's that good, he may push Emery Jones inside, where he's probably better suited to begin with. Disappointed to lose Dumervil, but I don't think Wire and Hill's window to playing time here has closed.
