The format was horrible from a spectator's perspective. Over half the people there left 45 minutes into the scrimmage. Also, the actual scrimmage did not start until about 12:15.

Ok, enough ranting... The gap between Flynn and Russell is very obvious. Flynn threw a few interceptions, was behind and low on many of his passes... basically had a bad day.

Russell played very well and made some nice timing passes on crossing routes. Both quarterbacks made some nice deep throws too.

Amp caught a few passes including one deep pass where he came down with a toe in bounds. He caught some across the middle and took some hard hits. He was not limping at all!

The running game is solid.. Addai and Broussard still a notch above Vincent though as far as today's scrimmage was concerned.

I met saltyone at the scrimmage. My girlfriend and I sat near him and his family. Nice people, except for salty. Kidding, was fun meeting them all. He's raising his little daughter the right way. She had a purple LSU jersey on and told me a bit about Mike the Tiger. :thumb:

I suspect that next year Miles may be pressured into doing the scrimmage in agme format. The band barely played anything during the scrimmage due to the format. To me, the spring game always gives a small taste of football that carries me into the summer and holds me over until kickoff in September. It was not like that today becuase it was really nothing like being at a game... more like sitting in and wtachign a practice.

I know this doesn't have to do with the "game", but I saw Ricky Dixon there and he was offered and may commit by the end of the weekend.:geauxtige

    I went

Thought it was boaring and not very intense.

Russell seemed confident and looked good.

Flynn throws pretty much the same way as last year. Basically behind the reciever for most of his passes.

Addai and Broussard Solid. JV not much leg strenght but also not much dancing ran north and south for the most part but was running with the 2nd's while Addai and Broussard sharred time with the 1's.

    Kicking appears to be improved.

Miles is extremely laid back so jury still out. Dunbar looks like a good teacher and probably could get pretty intense but all in all nota lot of emotion from the coaching staff. Very different.

Lot of slow jogging betweeen plays and stuff with hands on hips.

Not nearly as fun as the games of old. Did not care for this format.

Defense did not seem as dominating as we have seen.

Maybe early. We'll see. I'll be there Fan Day if I am not at work.

    Early Doucet Solid.

The consensus is that our offense is improved.

Amp Hill will be the big time playmaker.

    Kicking is better.

    Running game is solid

    Defense???????????????????????????????

Just got back a little while ago from the game. Here's some observations I made.

QB- Jamarcus looked great. He made smart decisions and his passes were on the money. He make several nice throws across the middle that hit the recievers in stride.
Flynn had a rough start throwing some low balls and a couple of INT's. Started to settle down toword the end. I thought it was clear that JR was a couple levels ahead of Flynn.

RB- Addai was awesome as always. Alley looked good but left the scrimmage limping(didnt look to serious). JV still seems like he isnt hitting the whole hard.

WR- I can see know why they call themselves A.F.R.O.S (America's Finest Recievers On Saturday). Early was very solid going across the middle. Buster and Bowe looked strong. Xavier caught everything thrown his way. Sky looked back to his oldself on a couple reverses. And last but not least, Amp Hill finally gave Tiger fans a preview of what all the hype was when he first arrived in Baton Rouge. Amp made an unreal catch on a deep ball thrown by Flynn with Sammy Joseph all in his face and falling out of bounds. He also recieved the Most Improved Player award for spring practice.

Great for Amp - I've said it a million times and will say it again, I can't remember very many recruits who got me more excited than Amp Hill over the last ten years. I hope he can live up to the expectations I had for him years ago.

It's about time we see a # 1 jersey on the offensive side of the ball - it's been way too long, that is the best looking jersey on game day...

EJ Kuale had a nice hit on Alley Broussard, knocked him back a bit. Echo that JR is ahead of MF. We are STACKED at WR. All of them can play. Oh yeah, the format was terrible. My son kept asking me when the "game" was going to start.
