    It most certainly did not come from K-State. The origins are somewhat murky, but the most widely held belief is that it came from a coach named Hugh Wyatt who coached at La Center High School in Washington. Of course the high school mascot was the Wildcats. If he didn't "invent" it, then it was certainly popularized by him.

    when i read the preseason article on it, it sounded like the team was excited about the possibilities and looking forward to running it.

    Learn something new everyday. I was watching ESPN once and they said the first team to really run it in College Ball was K-State and they called it the wildcat formation.

    But looks like I and ESPN were mistaken which is very common !!!!!

    Ha! The forward pass hadn't been invented yet, so they had to create an innovative way to run it with ball fakes and misdirection.

    Well it seems this year the Forward pass is a Trick Play for us as well.

    It would be awesome if we ran Ball fakes and mis-direction.
