Learning from experience, when you have major knee surgery, you lose your speed, agility, and most importantly, your confidence. He doesn't have that drive, that cutting speed, or the fearlessness he once had. It's sad, because I thought he was going to be one of the greats, but since his surgery, he hasn't been the same.

The same can be said for Broussard. His case doesn't appear to be as bad, but against nobodies, he's good, while against quality opposition, he falls completely short...

Regardless, I hope both do well from here on out...

JV wasn't very good last year. He put on weight to hoping to be more durable and be a bigger back. I don't think it was because he was lazy and not dedicated. The fact that the extra weight slowed him down last year, the knee injury, the mental aspect of getting over the injury, and the terrible O-line of this season makes him look really poor.

I have been trying to get a hold on what it is. JV is fairly big and strong, but he seems to make terrible decisions about when to make a cut back or hold his direction. He also appears to have very little balance. He is downed by the first guy who hits him a large percentage of the time. Take the Broussard touchdown againt Fresno. If it had been JV, he would never have made it through the first wave of tacklers.

I root for JV, but for whatever reason, he is just not a quality running back right now. He has had his chances. The difference in Hester's abilities, Broussard's and JV's might be pure quickness, vision, balance, and angles. I often see Hester notice a hole and boom...hits it immediately. JV might see it from time to time, but gets to it so slowly that it closes when the decision is made. Result-- four guys who were being blocked are on him from the lateral. And since it usually only takes an arm tackle...it's hello turf.

Having said all that, I only wish him the best and hope things change for him.
