Whizzing along Interstate 49 between Natchitoches and Shreveport, you can easily miss the exit for the town of Coushatta unless you’re looking for it. It one of those places, off the proverbial beaten path, that most people don’t go to unless they have a reason.
It was for the reason of checking out a promising recruit named Bennie Logan that LSU coach Les Miles went to Coushatta nearly three years ago.
When he walked into the gym at Red River High School, Miles knew he had hadn’t wasted a trip.
“He took a basketball, went the length of the court and slammed it,” Miles said. “I said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me. That’s a big ol’ guy.’”
Though he caught Miles’ attention, overall Logan didn’t garner an overwhelming amount of attention in recruiting. He was a three-star prospect, rated as the nation’s 65th-best defensive end by Scout.com and 76th by ESPNU.

I like this quote. They don't say who they are quoting; I am assuming either CLM or Brick.

I love it! I know that this jersey can go to any position on the team but it just seems to fit nicely on positions that give a lot of punishment. Great award for a great guy.

Yea, but that was because, after the Shady's incident, Miles could send Ego to the police lineup instead of Jefferson and mess with the eye witnesses looking for Jefferson there.

Congrats to Logan. Obviously he has a positive effect on his teamates and is looked upon as a leader. Best of luck in continuing the tradition of great lineman at LSU, and helping the tigers, once again, have the number one defense in the country this season.
