When I coached middle school ball, we didn't run the "wrong ball" play (which is awesome) but ran something similar we called hideout: Huddle breaks with 11 players and the coaches start yelling at one of the backs that he should be out of hte game and to get off the field. He runs over to where the coaches are. Coach (NOT on the field, but on the sidelines, very important) starts lecturing player (ON the field and behind the LOS) in a loud voice. Ball is snapped, coach tells player to turn around, ball is thrown to him and he should have clear sailing down the sideline. We ran it once every 2-3 years.
