1. I know golf isn't discussed much in this place. I just watched the press conference with Tiger & Phil. As expected they gave each other the needle and took a few jabs back & forth. Phil announced that he was going to bet $100k that he would birdie the first hole. Tiger challenged him to double it which he accepted. The side bets are coming out of the players pockets. It's pay per view at a price of $20 Friday afternoon.
Anyone else going to watch it?
  2. sounds great, but I won't pay to watch, sorta tempting though
  3. It's not a bad deal. Since it''s pay per view there won't be any commercials. Both players and their caddies will be miked so you will be able to hear things you normally wouldn't hear during a regular Tour telecast.
  4. heard a snippet of an interview phil gave and he didn’t sound confident but I haven’t heard him interview.

    who you like CO? Tiger?
  5. Tiger's the betting favorite. The course setup is going to be easy. Moved up tees and easy pins. There should be lots of birdies. I'd probably give a slight edge to Tiger, but it wouldn't surprise me if Phil won.
    kcal and GiantDuckFan like this.
  6. I wish I watched more than I do. Used to play a bit and if every hole was a dogleg left I’d break 90 on a good day, so I enjoy the game.

I think my favorite is the us open because it makes them look mortal
  7. If they were both betting $10mm of their own money Phil would win.
  8. What makes you think that?
  9. He is a gambler. I think he would have been willing to bet his own money and Tiger wouldn't.
  10. There is no way Phil would put up 9 mil of his own money in a one on one match against Tiger. Amy would throw his ass out in a heartbeat. She's probably not happy that he's betting $200k out of his pocket that he will birdie the first hole.
